Seattle Black Pride Board members are responsible as a collective for developing organizational
policies and procedures, fundraising, overseeing organizational structure, coordinating year-round
organization functions, and fundraising & community relationship building among other duties.
Along with input from community members, Seattle Black Pride's Board of Directors decides how to
market Seattle Black Pride and selects the following year's Black Pride event schedule.
If you are interested in joining a team of people committed to addressing important issues within
the Black GLBTQ community, please contact us.
The Seattle Black Pride Board of Directors is a "working" board. Board members are typically involved
in all aspects of the organization. Seattle Black Pride is currently recruiting Board members with
specialties in Marketing/Advertising, Membership, and Capacity Building.

Harnik Gulati, MPH, MSW - Chair of Public Relations Committee
harnikg@aol.com
Harnik has been involved with organizing Seattle Black Pride from the beginning of the movement in 2005 as both a facilitator
and community organizer. He was born in India and raised in the US—mostly Portland/Seattle. Harnik completed his graduate
studies in public health and social work and has been working within the field of HIV/AIDS prevention and care. His passion both
personally and professionally is social justice, especially as it relates to the physical, mental, and emotional health of
communities of color. Harnik has been involved in numerous health research projects, organizations, and grassroots organizing
efforts within the African-American community in Portland and Seattle. "I believe that we as
people of color need to work together, respect our differences, recognize what we have in common and our strengths, in order
to become visible and mobilize change." For both people living in Seattle and those moving here from other areas, there needs
to be a more visible, vibrant, cohesive community for Black people, and people of color to feel welcome. This is why I am excited
to be involved with Seattle Black Pride.

Organization Staff
Heath T. Bouldin - Body & Soul Retreats Co-Facilitator
heathb@seattleblackpride.org
Heath has served in the LGBT community for over 20 years. Strong
communication, people skills, and determination have made Community Service
one of Heath's strong points and desires. "Diversity and Community mean everything
to me," he says. Having worked in many LGBT establishments, events
and councils, Heath saw the need for Community Diversity.
Heath lived a
challenging life in the Chicago projects and learned early on the importance
of self-determination and the need to help others. He is also a very devoted, loving
single gay father and his sense of spirit precedes him. He exhibits a strong determination
to pursue a better, more meaningful life for himself, his son, and others.
Heath is very creative and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of
those around him. With a passion for Social Justice, Heath plans to pursue a degree in
that field. He was trained by The People's Institute on "Undoing Racism" in 2004,
which improved his abilities and desires to work with others. Currently a student
at Edmonds Community College, Heath and his 21yr old son act as leaders on campus.
Heath has held the positions of Student Event Programmer, Coordinator of the Conversation
Partner Program, and served as President of the Black Student Association and Vice-President
of the Hip-Hop Coalition. He also served as Student Government President in 2005 as he sat
on the Diversity Council at EdCC, helping to bring light and understanding to the need
of diversity among students. Heath is not one to shy away from a position of leadership
because he believes in helping others. His skills as a leader are self-evident as is
his hunger to learn more.
Heath is the newest elected member that sits on the Seattle HIV/AIDS
Planning Council and gives a lot of his time to sub-committees that deals with issues
that directly affect our LGBT community members. Heath has been an active member and
volunteer of the Seattle Black Pride organization since 2006 and co-facilitates
the Body & Soul Retreat outreach program.
