Since its creation in 2005, Seattle Black Pride has very quickly grown in maturity. Some of the key events are below.

Key Dates

June 2007: - Seattle Black Pride marches in Seattle Pride Parade 2007.
May 2007: - Seattle Black Pride revamps seattleblackpride.org into a brand new, professionally designed website.
- Seattle Black Pride President Kiantha Duncan-Woods is asked to Grand Marshall Seattle Pride Parade 2007.
March 2007: - Seattle Black Pride completes its first year of Body & Soul retreats.
January 2007: - Seattle Black Pride President Kiantha Duncan-Woods joins Board of Directors for International Federation of Black Prides.
- Seattle Black Pride is inducted to the International Federation of Black Prides.
December 2006: - Seattle Black Pride raised $31,000 in 2006 via corporate sponsorships, fundraisers, and individual donations!
- Seattle Black Pride hosted 8 large social events in 2006 with unprecedented participation from the community (over 1000 total participants) including: Halloween Carnivale, Labor Day Party, Super Bowl Party, Valentines Day Event, Book Reading, New Years Eve Red Carpet Event, and Taste of Tacoma.
- Seattle Black Pride joins the Black Leadership Council.
September 2006:- Seattle Black Pride partners with Multifaith Works to obtain its first office space.
July 2006: - Seattle Black Pride is awarded Public Health funding for its first community program: Body & Soul.
- Seattle Black Pride hosts the largest annual Black LGBT celebration ever in the Pacific Northwest (over 750 participants).
- Seattle Black Pride is awarded federal 501(c)(3) non-profit status.
June 2006: - Seattle Black Pride marches in Seattle Pride Parade 2006.
- Seattle Black Pride receives Local media attention (SGN, Colors NW, TV/Radio).
May 2006: - Seattle Black Prides receives national media attention in Clik Magazine.
January 2006: - Seattle Black Pride begins hosting monthly community meetings.
December 2005: - Seattle Black Pride elects its first Board of Directors.
